Find The Chest

Authors Note: This is my story to get graded on the writing rubric. 

James Price thanked his parents for the lovely meal. The brand new car they gave him for his birthday was perched on the street.  Now comes the long trip back to Madison. He is on his way home in the country. He hasn’t seen a house for miles. After driving for a while, he sees something in the distance. He can’t quite figure out what it is. It looks like a deer or a tree. When he approaches it disappears. When he gets to where it was, it comes back and it is a man in the road! James slams on the brakes but is unable to stop and hits the man. The man goes flying through the air. James rushes out of the car fearful that the man is dead.

 When James gets to him he says,” Where did you come from?  You came out of nowhere! Where do you live?”

The man only replies, “Find the chest.”

Puzzled, James says,” What do you mean?”

Right before the man can say anything he dies. Then James looks around and when he looks back the man is gone.

After the long and hurtful trip home, James opens the door to his house and it is trashed. There is graffiti all over the wall saying, “ get out! You don’t need anything from here”, “You are in danger,” “Find the chest.” James is convinced that a bunch of his friends did it. James walks up stairs to his room and his whole room is destroyed. All the lights are smashed and it is pitch black out so he can’t turn them on. James walked down the hall to Jeremy’s room. Jeremy is one of his roommates. His room is perfect. Just the way he left it. He walks down to his other three roommate’s rooms and they even look like someone cleaned them. James is really confused at the moment. He is thinking that someone is after him. James looks at the ceiling and sees the ladder to the attic. He knows he must go up.

James struggles to climb the old ladder. After a step brakes on him he becomes even more fearful. James is up in the attic and sees the only working light in the house. He turns it on and it flickers a lot. After a while it stays lit and doesn’t flicker. James looks around and right under the light is a chest.  James takes a good look at it and turns to go.

James Walks out to this car to go back to his parents house to stay there till his roommates are back. Finally he gets to his parents house and tells them all that has happened to him, but he leaves out one thing... the chest. After a while of watching TV and worrying about what is happening, he falls asleep. Mr. Price, James’ Dad, is up all night thinking about what is happening to his son.

“ Breakfast is done”, yells Mrs. Price from upstairs.  

 James wakes up and on the table his Mom had made him his favorite meal, pancakes and bacon with orange juice. Mr. Price wakes up after a long night up.

After they are done eating Mr. Price sits down James and says, “ James all this that is happening to you happened to me as a kid in college.  Now, listen very carefully.  Is there a chest up in the attic?”

James says, “ Yes. Why do you ask?”

Mr. Price says,” I put that up there when you moved there, I have to, otherwise the ghosts that are in your house will get me and kill me for what I did”.

” So how do I get them to go away”, James said

Mr. Price says,” Get the chest and open it and everything will go away. It won’t be in the same spot anymore when you get home”.

James left and thanked his father.

On the long drive home James has no people walking in front of him or anything. He finally gets home and the house is worse and there is no chest anywhere in site. So he walks out of the house to look around and there on the roof is the Man he hit with his car, standing there pointing at the chest.

 James says,” How do I get up here?” .

The Man says,” Use your jumping power, just jump”.

James jumps and gets up there and right after he reaches for the chest he is pushed off the roof by one of the ghosts and he jumps right back up and grabs the chest to take with him. James runs to his car and drives to his parents house. It is about 11 P.M. when he leaves and finally gets there at about midnight. James runs inside.

James yells,” I Got the chest!”.

Mr. Price says in a faded voice,” We are too late”.
James says,” What do you mean?”

Mr. Price says,” I forgot to tell you….. you have to open it by midnight, and it is 12:17”

James says,” Well what will happen? What are you taking about! I did what you asked.”

James Dad looks to the side and there is the ghost that pushed him off the roof pointing at his Dad.

James yelling,” Get out of here! No one wants you here! I found the chest and you should be gone!”

Mr. Prices last words are,” Goodbye James, I’m one of them now.”

I finally Got Them

The book the Winter War is a great piece about the famous Winter War in Finland. What is the war for though? These war was started so Russia could get land from Finland. One of the conflicts of the book was that Marko found these horses in a Russian stable. These horses were beautiful Marko has never seen anything like them and plus he really wants them. The horses are owned by the Russian so they can get around on them from base to base. Due to this country vs. self conflict resolution Marko has no chance of getting these horses. There are guards everywhere protecting them to.

The resolution of this event is that Marko is the hospital with his mom and his mom takes him in a room with his friend and outside there are the horses the Russians left back from the stable the same ones. Marko runs outside to the horses to get them. That was the ending of the book. 

Our Founding Fathers

Authors Note: This is my essay on the Founding Fathers and what I would say to them. 

Our Founding Fathers of a America were the people who wrote the and signed The Declaration of Independents. What else did they do though is that all they did? Did they fight is wars?  Were they president. I mean what could these people have done to be so famous?

One of the main things they did was sing the Declaration of Independents. What was that though? The Declaration  was a statement adopted by the congress.  This was wrote for independents for America. The Founding Fathers were also a part of the American Revolution war. That wasn’t what they are known for though they are known more for the Declaration of Independents which all the founding fathers singed.

What would anybody say to them though? I think I would more like ask them question like Why did you guys write the Declaration of Independents? Or maybe even What was it like back when you were living was it nice or was it bad and not a place you wanted to live? If it was so bad what made it that way?

Even though that might not be enough information to know about them well with what I asked and know I think I could talk to them and know what I was talking about and could have a good conversation with them. 

I'm Not Like Others

Authors Note: This is my new Cause and effect piece. It is still on the book I Am Number Four.

I Am Number Four is about boy who has super powers. This boy is special because he is like no other. He is one of the nine who escaped from there planet Loric. These un like human people are being hunted down  by these big beasts. This boy is number four he is the next to be killed. In this book no one supposed to know he has these super powers. Every time someone figures out he does he has to move to a different city in the world. During apart in the book though one of his best friends figures out he has these powers, but they stay in that same city.

Now that he knows he has these powers is not a good thing because if more people get to know he has these super powers he will have to move or these big beast will know where he is and will come and get him. It was a bad idea not to move though. After a while these big beast find him and a big war starts. 

They Know Where We Are

Authors Note: This is my cause and effect piece.

One of the best books I have read so far is I Am Number Four. Even know I’m still reading it I still think it is really good.  The book is about a boy name John and he is part of a group and there are only 5 left in this group because the other 3 are died and John is number four. That means that the Morgidrians are after him. But you may be thinking what are the Morgidrians. The Morgidrians are these human like things who try to killed the numbers but if they hurt any of the numbers but four they get the same thing they do to the number to them. Well I just got done reading this Part in the book were John and Henry by the way Henry is John guardian and he helps him live his life. Anyway what happens is that Henry finds this article in a magazine and wants to figure out who wrote it so Henry goes to the magazine companies factor to ask who wrote it but what ends up happening is the Morgidrains show up. When they show up John has to fight them and after awhile they leave.

What is the effect of that happening though well first of all the Morgidrians knows that John is near. Another thing is that John doesn’t want to leave because he has many friends and a girlfriend. Henry later in the book decided that they can stay and live there but if there are any signs of the Morgidrians they leave. 

Fighting For our Country

Authors Note: This is my conflict resolution piece.

The Book The Winter War is about this boy named Marko. What does Marko do in the book though. Well the conflict is that Russia wants land from Finland, but they won't give it to them, so Russia Starts A war with Finland called the Winter War. Which Marko becomes a messenger in to help his Country. 

Well how is this War ended? The War was ended because at the end Russia and Finland came to an agreement that Russia would get some land but Finland still won the War but lost at the same time because they had to give land to Russia still.

My Journey For a Home Run

Author’s Note: This is my personal narrative on my first home run.  

“ Adam you are on deck”, Says Coach. Just got on deck When Conner is up to bat. We are losing. There is still a lot left to the game it is only the third inning so we still have a chance to win. I start to swing my bat.  well I swing Conner takes the first pitch for a ball. Still swinging my bat nervous to get back up to bat. Conner takes another pitch for a strike though. I’m standing there think when am I going to be up I want to hit. Finally I’m up after Conner grounding out to the 3^rd baseman.

I get up to bat after Conner grounding out. I look at the pitch he is starring down his target trying to get the pitch from his catcher. I’m nervous think am I going to hit the ball, where is it going to go, and am I going to get on base.  He gets in the wind up. He starts his motion. Throws the ball I feel it hit my bat. It just feels like I just have a single, so I just star running as hard as I can around the bases well looking at the ball so I know where it is.

I’m  get around first and I look and see the ball it is far out in left center field. So I book it around the bases. I’m heading for second, now third base I look After rounding third I look and I see the short stop with the ball. I think in my head am I going to be safe is he going to get me out? I just sprint towards home and all my teammates are yelling up I touch home and the short stop still has the ball so am safe. I was so happy after that happened and I still am hoping I can hit another home run again.

I’m Sitting on the bench, barley able to breathe. Everyone is coming to congratulate me but I can’t even talk to them. After a while of sitting on the bench the inning ends and I’m playing first so I don’t have to run that much.
